Spray Rating Tester - TNG1054

The TNG1054 Spray Rating Tester is designed to evaluate the resistance of fabrics to surface wetting by water. The instrument operates by spraying distilled water onto a test sample positioned 150 mm below the nozzle. The test procedure involves humidifying the sample for more than 4 hours under controlled conditions of 21±1℃ temperature and 65±2% relative humidity. After humidification, the sample is clamped at a 45° angle, and 50 ml of water is poured into a funnel to maintain continuous spraying. The sample is then observed to determine the extent of wetting, which is classified according to specified standards. The TNG1054 supports testing in accordance with AATCC 22 and ISO 4920. It is applicable to fabrics, whether or not they have been treated with water-resistant or water-repellent finishes. The tester's dimensions are 360 mm in length, 280 mm in width, and 510 mm in height. The results are interpreted based on the degree of wetting, with ISO 0 indicating complete wetting of the entire sample face, ISO 1 indicating complete wetting beyond the spray points, ISO 2 indicating partial wetting beyond the spray points, ISO 3 indicating wetting at the spray points, and ISO 4 indicating slight random sticking or wetting of the specimen face.

• Test procedure
• As AATCC 22 required, we put the test piece to the humidifying treatment more than 4 hours, which under the environment of standard temperature of21±1℃and relative humility of 65±2℃.
• After the humidifying treatment, the test piece clamped by the holder on the support at a 45°, and we pure 50ml water into the funnel rapidly steadily in order to keep drenching constantly. When the water is used up, we can observe the test piece.

• ISO 1 = AATCC 50: complete wetting of the entire sample face beyond the spray points.

• ISO 4 = AATCC 90: slight random sticking or wetting of the specimen face.
