Product overview
The TNG1056 Hydrostatic Head Tester is designed to evaluate the water resistance of textile materials by applying pressure until water penetration occurs. The instrument operates by clamping a sample in a standard test area and gradually increasing water pressure until the material fails. This process determines the hydrostatic head, which indicates the material's ability to resist water penetration. The TNG1056 supports testing according to AATCC 127 option 2, ISO 811, and GB/T 4744 standards. It is suitable for a range of materials including canvas, coated fabrics, cover cloth, rainproof clothing fabrics, and geotextiles. The tester is manually operated and features a large touchscreen control panel for monitoring and displaying test results. It includes a built-in thermal compact printer for printing test data. The pressure range is 0 to 200 kPa, with an adjustable pressure increase rate of 1 to 60 kPa/min. The system includes dynamic feedback to prevent overload during testing. The dimensions of the TNG1056 are 690 mm in length, 540 mm in width, and 870 mm in height.
Application
Hydrostatic Head Tester is used for determining the resistance of fabrics (canvas, coated fabrics, cover cloth, rainproof clothing fabrics, and geotextile materials) and films to water penetration under pressure while firmly clamped in the test rig of standard area. Hydrostatic Head Tester standards include AATCC 127 option 2, ISO 811, GB/T 4744.
This Hydrostatic Head Tester is for manual operation, and we also have another type of hydrostatic pressure test equipment for automotive operating, click here to know.

- Know More about Hydrostatic Head Tester
- Definition of hydrostatic pressure
- Hydrostatic pressure refers to the resistance encountered when water passes through the fabric. The fabric is subjected to a continuous rise in water pressure until water beads up on the back of the fabric under standard atmospheric pressure. At this point, the measured water pressure value is the hydrostatic pressure. Because the greater the hydrostatic pressure that the fabric can withstand, the better the waterproofness or resistance to seepage.
- Hydrostatic pressure units
- The hydrostatic pressure can express in N/㎡, Kpa, and water column height m. And the conversion unit is 1m water column height equals 9.82Kpa.
- Precaution and Maintenance
- 1 Before the first operation, the operator must read the Operation Manual carefully and receive special technical training.
- 2 Sweep the upper chuck lightly before placing the specimen to avoid affecting the test results.
- 3 The default value of the cylinder is 0.5MPa (can adjust according to the characteristics of the specimen). The maximum error range should not exceed plus or minus 0.2MPa.
